Arts Museums and Recreation in Georgia
This year’s vacation was my best summer vacation ever. I spent some quality time with my friend in Georgia. This state is known for the rich history, fascinating culture and offers great fun for every tourist. Georgia will always have something to keep you busy from dawn to dusk. When the day arrived, we went to the airport and took a plane.
What surprised me was my friend’s fear of heights. He grabbed my hand for support as the plane took off. “Ladies and gentlemen please fasten your seat belts. We are now descending to Atlanta Georgia. Thanks for flying with American airlines.” The flight attendant announced. The plane finally came to a stop and we stepped out.
I enjoyed breathing the fresh air as we retrieved our luggage
“Do you like the place?” I asked. Alex looked confused and could not utter a word. To my astonishment he confessed to me that he had never been in a plane. “Do we have to go back with a plane?” Alex asked. Let’s enjoy ourselves. I said. The sights, sounds and scents of the state of Georgia offered us warm welcome. Since we were both tired, we booked a hotel to spend the night; as we enjoyed cool and peaceful music. In the morning we woke up refreshed ready to adventure this beautiful environment.
After all, I had done a background research of the places I wanted to visit. Considering, I knew exactly where to start from. I had plans of visiting the cascading waterfalls to mountain gorges. As well as explore all the amazing natural wonders in this great state. We started by exploring the beaches of Georgia. At around 9 am, we were at Tybee Island beaches. We were having a blast. After a few minutes Alex was already surfing while I enjoyed while I prepared myself to swim. This was a great experience. We enjoyed the outdoor pursuits for 3 hours.
In the afternoon, we went to Morris Museum of arts
We enjoyed the best collection of arts; which dated back to the civil war period. This museum showed the recent advancements in technology in arts work. The eye catching and skillful evident of arts is the watercolor of a soldier; who was enjoying his cigarette. In addition, there was an arts that showed Mississippi River back in 1927. It was an oil painting. Furthermore, it was originally created for a magazine.
There was also a painting that showed a black family that lived in rural Georgia. These fine arts were clear evidence of how rich the culture is. Many people had come from different parts of the world to view these arts. Indeed it was a great fun. In the evening we went to Cloudland Canyon State Park. Where we had an opportunity of climbing in wild caves. As we enjoyed the two-mile waterfalls. Along with walking through the gravel surface.
The following day, we wanted to do things in a different way
We decided to visit the famous Baldy Peak for recreation. This was a great way of enjoying nature. It’s a well known hiking area for those who love the mountains. I discovered many fun filled activities that were also conducted for the amusement of people who visited. Once again my friend Alex was caught unaware. I had to encourage him as we did the hiking; due to his fear of heights. What an awesome view! It was beyond any reasonable doubt that this is one of the best places that one can enjoy themselves to the fullest.
We then headed to the Tallulah Gorge. This is one of the magnificent places on earth. There we had a chance to see the six waterfalls; as well as a bridge that is suspended 80 ft above the surface. I have to admit that it was the first time I walked through such kind of height. Every time I stepped forward over the bridge and looked down; my whole body would shake. I kept looking apprehensively over my shoulders. As though I feared I might be pushed.
Later that evening, our 3-day visit came to an end..
Do we have to go back today? Alex asked. I smiled; I showed him our return air tickets. He nodded as a sign of acceptance. Visiting the state of Georgia offered us so many opportunities for exploration, fun as well as a very unique experience. With the rich history and culture; it’s definitely one of the best vacation destinations.
